I’m on a quest to put not 10,000 hours but 10,000 days to my craft.” MrBeast once said this talking about his future as a creator. Well, 2023 was a massive leap for the YouTuber. His evolution from his early days as a creator to the ‘biggest content creator’ has been inspirational in so many ways. But being at the top means all eyes are on you. It comes with the territory. And there was plenty of spotlight on the creator.

The brand of MrBeast unarguably dominated the headlines more than any other creator in the content creation space. There were ups like cruising past 200 million subscribers and downs like some harsh criticism. The creator has his eyes set on the top spot, aiming to dethrone T series to become the most subscribed YouTube channel. While the creator is without a doubt hard at work, let us go through 6 of MrBeast’s biggest headlines from 2023.

1) Facing hatred for philanthropy videos

The last year did not begin ideally for the YouTube King. In fact, the first big headline of 2023 for MrBeast was unfortunately the story of internet hatred. It shocked the fans when MrBeast started receiving hate and was being trolled for his philanthropic ventures.

In one instance, the YouTuber uploaded a video helping 1,000 people suffering from vision impairment get their treatment. Jimmy had aided all the thousand blind people with a new vision. However, one section of the internet took heat to the creator and his efforts. The allegations made against the creator were as extreme as ‘using blind people for views.’ The criticism around the video caught so much buzz that eventually MrBeast had to respond. Ever since then, the creator has decided to not feed attention to such trolls and keep on with the good work.

2) The Fall of MrBeast Burger

While MrBeast has enjoyed victories all around lately, his business venture, Feastables, has been no less. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for the Beast burger. The quality of the burgers was constantly kept under community scrutiny, as the product couldn’t match up to the consumer’s expectations. Another important reason for the fall of the MrBeast burger is attributed to the fact that the creator himself couldn’t get involved in the supply chan to assure quality.

The problem with Beast Burger is I can’t guarantee the quality of the order. When working with other restaurants it’s impossible to control it sadly And tbh I just enjoy Feastables 100x more,” MrBeast wrote in a tweet before shutting down the venture. It was evident, Jimmy was now looking to completely focus on Feastables. And oh boy, did it work!

3) Entering the Beast mode!

A proud moment for all the MrBeast fans as Jimmy shared an exciting update on his fitness. The fat loss journey for Jimmy was a personal goal that he had set back in 2022 and had been working quite hard for months. From a strict diet to hitting the weights in the gym, the creator remained dedicated. In August, fans got to see the progress and not so surprisingly, it broke the internet.

Moreover, a lot of celebrities reacted with praise to this iconic tweet. In fact, MrBeast even got approval from the legendary bodybuilder and Terminator actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger. The latter tweeted, “Wow – fantastic work. Keep pumping and inspiring people! Let me know if you’re in LA and want to get a lift in.”

4) Creator of the Year and Best Collaboration award

The stage was set as fans waited for another big achievement under MrBeast’s cap. It was the night of Streamy Awards, 2023, and MrBeast was nominated in five categories for the Streamy. Although the creator wasn’t able to attend the event, the fans made sure they did not miss out on the opportunity! MrBeast was crowned the Creator of the Year for the fourth consecutive time. Further, he won the Streamy for the best collaboration category. Remember the iconic collab with The Rock?

MrBeast challenged Dwayne Johnson to a game of Rock Paper Scissors. The loser would have to donate $100,000 to a charity of their choosing. While MrBeast won, he decided to donate as well, and The Rock picked the Make-A-Wish foundation.

Well, talking about records and numbers, 2023 became the breakout year for the YouTube King in a lot of sense.

5) MrBeast Videos breaking records

The YouTuber dominated the record for most views on a non-music video in 24 hours. Why dominate? Because the creator kept on breaking his own records with a follow-up upload. Initially, it was the PewDiePie collaboration followed by the 7 Days Stranded at the Sea. The record was then surpassed by his $1 vs $100 million house video which had amassed 46 million views. It looked like no one could touch the record until the entry of GTA 6

The fact that it took a GTA 6 trailer to break a MrBeast record sums up the story.

6) ‘Deez Nutz’ Feastables legal trouble

For the uninitiated, MrBeast’s candy brand Feastables was sued in September 2023 by a Florida-based peanut firm. This business is called Dee’s Nuts; does that name sound familiar? That, after all, was the main motivation for the Dee’s Nuts owners’ decision to pursue MrBeast’s food brand. The snack firm requested that MrBeast stop using the term “Deez Nutz” to promote his candy bar since it bore too much resemblance to Brian Ditore’s Dee’s Nuts. The company was created by him about ten years ago. Recently, the case was closed in favor of the peanut firm.
