Rockstar’s highly anticipated GTA 6 video game received its extremely hyped trailer yesterday. Following its debut, the video has been setting new viewership records on the internet. Especially, when it comes to the streaming platform YouTube. After surpassing MrBeast’s record for most views for a non-music video in 24 hours, the trailer has now crossed 100 million views already. While doing so, it has also become Rockstar’s most-watched video on YouTube.

But that’s not the only milestone Grand Theft Auto 6 has reached with its celebrated trailer. Reaching 100 million views on YouTube is quite a big occasion for the trailer, as it has reached this figure in a record-breaking time compared to an iconic predecessor like GTA V. An interesting incident has just occurred for both of these games thanks to the ‘100 million magic’.

Yes, it is true, and it has happened after just a single day. For the uninitiated, the trailer for the next GTA installment had already leaked ahead of schedule. It was originally planned to go live on December 5 at 9 a.m. ET. Unfortunately, the developer had to release it way early while sharing this message on social media: “Our trailer has leaked so please watch the real thing on YouTube.”

However, even the leaks couldn’t stop the GTA 6 trailer from creating history. At first, it became the fastest non-music video to reach 10 million and 50 million views, respectively, on YouTube. Plus, it even broke the record for the most-liked video!

Previously, this milestone belonged to 2018’s Marvel movie Avengers: Infinity War. The trailer for the MCU film had gained over 4 million likes. But now, the trailer for GTA 6 has gotten more than 9 million likes after just 24 hours of its premiere. But what’s really interesting to note is that both the trailers for Rockstar’s two popular games eventually hit 100 million views on the same day itself.

While the first GTA V trailer, from 2011, pushed its lifetime views to 100 million after 12 years, the GTA 6 trailer reached that milestone in just over 24 hours. That’s literally insane to believe but it’s a fact now. The only record the next Grand Theft Auto trailer couldn’t break is that of the K-pop boy band BTS. The music video for the group’s “Butter” song had reached 108 million views in 24 hours after its original release. However, the second trailer for GTA 6 is yet to come out. Hopefully, it will eventually clinch the ultimate crown.

When is GTA 6 releasing eventually?

Publisher Take-Two and Rockstar have revealed that the title is scheduled to come out in 2025. But that’s the only piece of information available right now. Sadly, a proper date of launch for GTA 6 hasn’t been confirmed yet. However, players can at least prepare themselves for its arrival.

Especially, those who are console owners. It’s important to note that the video game will only support next-gen hardware. This means gamers who still own last-gen consoles like PS4 and Xbox One won’t be able to enjoy this highly demanding open-world extravaganza. Having a PS5 or Xbox Series X\S is a must!
