Doesn’t matter how good a driver you are, this alleged feature in the upcoming GTA is set to make stealing cars in the game harder than ever. But it’s Rockstar Games’ mobster universe, so every added challenge is certainly going to be worth it. However, the internet believes this feature could be a game changer for GTA 6.

Since the trailer release, it’s been theories galore. But we might have just found the winner. If the latest theory is anything to go by, you will think twice before stealing a vehicle in GTA 6.

Carjacking is unarguably one of the most enjoyed casual activities in the Grand Theft Auto universe. Despite the fact it puts you under the authorities’ radar, carjacking is always worth the risk. Moreover, if you’re confident enough in your driving skills, you won’t even need cheat codes to lose the cops. However, things might change in GTA 6. A Reddit user recently fueled a discussion on the possibility of cops using grapplers, which will make getting away a lot tougher, and make the cops very advanced.

For those unaware, the grappling technique is a new real-life technology used by the authorities to catch criminals during a car chase. With the help of a heavy-duty nylon net that is thrown out from the front of a police car that is following the suspect, the Grappler gadget can stop a pursuit in its tracks by wrapping the net around the suspect’s rear tire.

Now, the idea of this feature being in GTA 6 completely changes how players approach carjacking. While there hasn’t been any official confirmation about the grapplers in the forthcoming project, Rockstar Games’ roadmap adds credibility to the theory.

The developers have always focused on amplifying the challenges for players against committing crimes in GTA games just to make the world more immersive. For instance, to catch carjackers in GTA V, developers added some extra technology in the shell for the cops. Only makes you wonder what a decade later follow-up will add to the advancements. Let’s have a look at what the fans think.

A user believes it will only make carjacking that much more tougher, stating, “That would seriously bring a very interesting mechanic to the game, and make it much more challenging.”

Another netizen likened the advancement to something you’d see in a James Bond movie. After all, one of the things fans love about Bond is his car and the gadgets that come with it. “That’s some James Bond level sh*t,” they wrote.

A fan believes it needs to be situational. Each wanted level star increases the difficulty of the chase, including more cops, spikes, shoot to kill and choppers. “Maybe in certain scenarios, like they use it it in a 3 star (assuming they add six stars which would make 3 stars the last level before they “shoot to kill”) and then just that,” the comment read.

Another player believes grappling would just spice up the carjacking fun only for the helicopters to join in later. “Considering what goes down in a normal GTA lobby, can’t really blame them for having a f*ck ton of helicopters on standby,” they expressed.

On the contrary, a fan wants to see the game give references to the iconic innovations from Fast and Furious 2. “Remember 2 fast 2 furious? Police used emp to disable cars electronics. I hope there are 2fast2furious references,” the comment read.
