As the name implies, GTA is all about crime and lawbreaking. Over 10 years after its predecessor, the GTA 6 trailer showed how players will be carrying forward the crime spree. The record shattering trailer was one of the best depictions of the outlaw world the game is set in. There was hardly a frame in the trailer where laws weren’t being broken. Now a recent video has broken the trailer down, showing just how many.

Reckless driving, property destruction, robbery, the GTA 6 trailer in typical fashion showed it all. While that is the whole charm of the series, an online personality as a lawyer, Law by Mike, broke down all the laws broken in the game and calculated the total jail time for it.

It’s no secret that the GTA series is mainly targeted towards adults. The games showcase many explicit scenes that are not suitable for younger audiences. One of the main reasons players play GTA is to be able to do things that would land people behind bars in real life. The games act as a great stress buster for players as long as they are only breaking laws within the games.

The video also broke down the consequences of the crimes in real life.

The expected Jail time for all the crimes shown in the trailer

The characters in the GTA 6 trailer are implicated in a series of criminal activities, each carrying its own potential jail time. The lawyer takes a playful approach to the trailer and decides to estimate the jail time for anyone who decides to commit these crimes.

According to Mike, in The 5 counts of reckless driving in the video, each gets 3 months of jail time, which equals 15 months. The 2 counts of illegal carrying and threatening with weapons put someone in for 2 years. Three more counts of dangerous driving add 9 more months to the total. After which 5 more reckless driving charges were counted, which is 15 more months.

The resisting two arrests add 2 more years. The unarmed robberies add 10 years each while being arrested for armed robbery can put someone in for 25 years. Destruction of property adds another 10 years, which totals 93 years and 3 months in prison.

While GTA is purely fiction and nothing more than a means to satisfy a fantasy as with any video game, the lawyer gives fans an idea of how much jail time are they would get from committing the crimes in real life.
