Is the “Old” MrBeast Still Missed? Fans Debate Over the Internet

Starting his career in 2012, Jimmy MrBeast Donaldson has evolved with his content as YouTube has. Known to set the new YouTube meta, he has grown from the young creator he was when he was 13 to one of the biggest figures in the YouTube content space. MrBeast’s first video was quite different from what he makes today. He has come a long way from someone who makes Minecraft videos, to the mega-scale production videos he creates now.

Today, being the biggest YouTuber on the platform with over 220 million subscribers, fans have noticed the change in his style of videos over the years. While fans love the content that he is currently putting out, many miss the younger MrBeast. The charm of his younger version growing his way in the YouTube world is something that initially captivated the fans before everything went big budget. And a post on Reddit has many fans debating over which MrBeast they like more.

In a recent Reddit post, one fan spoke about how they were watching MrBeast videos from over 4 years ago and pointed out all the changes they noticed over the years. Through a post titled, ” I miss the ‘old’ MrBeast,” the fan said, ” It used to be more about him and his crew doing challenges and having fun.” In contrast, they mentioned, “Now it’s less about him or the crew, and more about the challenge and what you win. The people competing are different in every video so you can’t really build a connection with them.”

The fan discussed how Chandler, a close friend of MrBeast, who used to be a big part of the channel, is now “barely” there in the videos. The fan shared how they can’t pinpoint when the change started happening in MrBeast’s content, but does mention that it was around after Jake the Viking left the team.

While his focus was always on YouTube and it looks like it will always be YouTube, Jimmy has transitioned with the platform and the audience. The fan shared how the post is just their opinion on the matter and went on to ask the community what they felt about MrBeast’s content over the years.

One user stated that while he likes MrBeast’s current content, he wishes the YouTuber, “he still did those challenges with his crew aswell.”
