Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is allegedly getting a Beetle DLC as suggested by recent rumors. The GOTY nominee is unarguably one of the most celebrated releases of 2023 and with reports of a possible Beetle DLC, Insomniac’s web-slinging action has made the headlines again. For a while now the rumors around the Insomniac sequels DLC had been running around the internet. However, things dynamically changed after the unfortunate cyber attack on Insomniac as it unveiled the next big plans of the developers in the Spider-Man universe!

Ever since Insomniac was hit by the Rhysidia ransomware attack, the PlayStation fans have been busy with leak theories and deductions. The data breach on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 devs resulted in a lot of confidential data surfacing across the web. This included some protected details of Marvel’s Wolverine, employee documents, and apparently an upcoming DLC tease for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2! So, what’s with the theory of a Beetle DLC for the Insomniac sequel? Here’s everything you should know about the rumor.

Recently, a credible industry scoop made some striking claims taking the internet by storm. The source claimed the cyber attack on Insomniac Games was subjected to a lot of confidential information leaks and gave away a straight hint to the next planned DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. If the rumor is to be trusted, the DLC scheduled for the sequel will feature the character of Beetle as the main antagonist. According to the claim, Janice Lincoln, Tombstone’s daughter would be the lady beetle in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 DLC.

The leaker based the claims on a few of the documents that were listed in the leak as Beetle. Furthermore, these listings had specific missions and characters added to their tags possibly hinting at the plans around the DLC. Considering the fact that Beetle has already fought Spider-Man twice in the comic book series but has yet to make a way into mainstream virtual features, this looks like a plausible theory.

It is important to note that the claim is just a rumor and should be taken with a pinch of salt. There has been no official confirmation made by the developers for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 DLC. Also, fans believe the developers may work on some changes following the leaks getting attention from the community.

A new Ratchet and Clank game in FY2029, an X-Men game in FY2030, a Venom game set for FY2025, and Spider-Man 3 in FY2028 were among the other planned games that were disclosed after the attack.

However, while reacting to the cyber breach episode, Insomniac Games did confirm they won’t be changing the schedule for Marvel’s Wolverine or any other plan. But, does this mean there won’t be any alterations to other titles that were brought to light? Well, we don’t know yet.
