The popularity of GTA V knowns no limits as it’s still Rockstar Games’ most popular title. Although other Rockstar Games titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 were released after GTA V, the decade-old game remains the studio’s paramount. Today, we can continue to see the popularity of the game on the streaming platform Twitch, where, after such a long while, the numbers are still climbing.

Twitch stats have become a general base for which games are popular at the time. As players stop playing a certain game, the viewership also goes down. With games like Fortnite and League of Legends being all-time favorites on Twitch, GTA V reigns harder according to the stats this week.

TwitchTracker has become a crucial resource for checking what games are currently doing well on the platform. According to its recent report, the second most watched “game” on Twitch is GTA V. But in reality, it is only second to the “Just Chatting” category, which is not a game. So that actually makes it the most watched game on the platform.

According to the reports, GTA V has managed to pull in over 240k average viewers. It falls short by quite a margin compared to Just Chatting which averages at 373k viewers. The calculations are based on the last 7 days, and the change in GTA V’s viewership has been up by 3.2%. While this might not seem like much, it brings GTA V to have 9.306% of the Total Viewers on Twitch, watching the game.

Now that the confusion about GTA V’s position on the list is cleared out, which game is the second most watched, you ask? It’s League of Legends. Coming in with 213k average viewers, the game has made a tremendous jump by 55.7%. League of Legends beat Escape from Tarkov in ranking which dropped by 65.4% to 89.6k average viewers, making it the third most-watched game on the Platform.

The fourth most-watched game is Valorant at 87.8k viewers. Fortnite, on the other hand, has dropped a lot of numbers and is after Valorant with just 86.9k viewers.

What makes GTA V so popular today?

While it might be confusing to some, as to how someone can watch GTA V being played for so many years, it is because of the inclusion of GTA Online and GTA RP servers in the category. Although most players have completed the story mode of GTA V, the multiplayer servers give players unlimited playability.

Rockstar Games’ official online server is constantly updated and players get many new pieces of content to explore in GTA Online. The Dr. Dre for the Contract DLC brings in the popular figure into the GTA-verse and things like this are what keep players hooked.

Many of the platform’s biggest streamers like xQc, Buddha, and Sykkuno are hardcore GTA RP players. This has led to celebrities like Doja Cat, LeBron James, and Travis Scott also jumping in on the action. To make things better for GTA RP viewers, Rockstar Games recently gave out 600k Twitch subs for GTA viewers.
