Rise of MrSavage: The ‘Smartest’ Player of Fortnite!

Is MrSavage the best Fortnite player of all time? Martin Foss Anderson aka MrSavage has been with the Battle Royale since day one. The latter only started streaming in 2018 and today has over 3.4 million followers on Twitch. The Norwegian superstar stands stronger than the biggest of veterans of the Battle Royale. But, how did the nineteen-year-old Fortnite Pro manage to claim the crown?

The story of the rise of MrSavage is nothing less than magic. From the good old days to the newfound limelight, Fortnite has always been a pioneer of eSporting events and competitions. Courtesy of Epic Games’ constant evolution, the game has remained a popular trend in the streaming community. Moreover, it enjoys some extra attention in the young sections of eSporting fans. MrSavage is also one of these enthusiasts. Here’s the story of the smartest player of the Battle Royale. 

MrSavage: The Journey of the Fortnite Pro

The Anderson brothers were always competitive. As revealed by his own brother, Martin always looked for competition, be it outdoor sports or indoor sports. Most of the time, the brothers were seen competing against each other in video games. It was the year 2017, when Martin’s brother introduced him to the newest trending Battle Royale, Fortnite and as you know, the rest is history!

After exploring the Battle Royale for a year, MrSavage started uploading videos of his gameplay on YouTube. Although the creator was quite inconsistent with the uploads, the gameplay clips did pull off some decent numbers. A few months later in May 2018, the gamer decided to switch to Twitch and debut his streaming career. But things didn’t immediately work for the man until his breakout year 2019 arrived. 

The year 2019 brought a lot of attention to the rising star. His average views started climbing up to 1000 and it was only about the time he became a professional eSports player. The steamer was signed by NRG Org and he didn’t waste the opportunity at all. The player managed to draw a lot of spotlight among a legendary cluster of Fortnite Pros. Thus, his social media views kept on with the surge. 

The tables completely turned in favor of MrSavage when Epic Games announced lowering the age limit for online competitions from 16 to 13. The fans who were familiar with MrSavage already knew it was his time to claim the ‘Fortnite Throne’. First-ever Fortnite World Cup held in July 2019 was all the stage he needed. The streamer paired up with another rising star Benjyfishy and stunned the world with their impressive gameplay on the global stage. 


Post the World Cup, the roadmap to the biggest league was clear as a day for MrSavage. He can still conjure up a victory even with zero mats or low health. The clutch shadow bomb play that stunned the entire community is his most well-known moment.
