Square Enix Looks to Approach 2024 With New ‘Technological Advancements’

Square Enix is already planning to make the big leap in 2024 with some futuristic vision. As the world celebrates a new beginning, Square Enix President has hinted at a few big revolutions set to take the developing giant to new heights. So, could this redefine how the makers of epics like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest approach gaming ventures in 2024? 

The last few years have been quite a strong evolution in gaming tech. However, with major industry giants eyeing gigantic technological advancements, we can only presume the race has just begun. The Japanese gaming giants have an exhilarating lineup ready for the forthcoming season, but there’s more! While brands like Capcom, Sony, and Microsoft, have already laid foundations for their ‘tech uprising’, here’s why 2024 is set to be a ‘game-changing’ year for Square Enix. 

Square Enix President reveals promising blueprint for the company

Takashi Kiryu, the President and Representative Director of Square Enix through a letter addressed the gaming community on the future plans of the developers. The New Year special letter, besides including expressions of gratitude to the Square Enix team and community, highlighted some important adaptations the company would look forward to exploring in the coming year. This mostly focused on catching up to the uprising of Artificial Intelligence.

We also intend to be aggressive in applying AI and other cutting-edge technologies to both our content development and our publishing functions. In the short term, our goal will be to enhance our development productivity and achieve greater sophistication in our marketing efforts. In the longer term, we hope to leverage those technologies to create new forms of content for consumers, as we believe that technological innovation represents business opportunities,” a segment of the letter read. 

Adding on to that, the Square Enix director talked about how the gaming giants would also look to focus on two other aspects of the business domain. Apart from AI, Kiryu vision the company to focus on blockchain entertainment/ Web 3.0 and cloud gaming technology. “Last year we redefined our overarching mission and goals for these three fields. We are currently working to modify our organizational structure and optimize our resource allocations to support these efforts,” the Square Enix chief concluded

As a business year, 2024 has the potential to completely change the influence of Square Enix in the industry. Although the developers have established an impressive brand image with the celebrated Final Fantasy franchise, the new AI approach could take their games to new heights.

What’s more interesting is the fact that the schedule of Square Enix already looks busier than ever. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Final Fantasy 16 DLC Rising Tide, a PC Port, and Final Fantasy 14 Dawntrail Expansion are the confirmed launches arriving to spice up your 2024 gaming adventure. Now, the Square Enix President’s words are nothing but the ‘cherry on the cake’.
