The gameplay of Stellar Blade will consist of a third-person perspective, combining elements of combat and exploration. Similar to popular titles like Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, and Nier Automata, Shift Up’s title will focus on using combo skills and other key items to take down bosses.
Skills will be acquired after spending Beta Gauge (BG). BG, in turn, can be acquired after successfully parrying and evading during battles against deadly enemies. The Burst Gauge meter can also be filled by blocking attacks from the enemies by utilizing various combos. They can be eventually activated to provide a solid boost or use powerful attacks.
Now speaking of the release date itself, Stellar Blade is yet to receive one. But it’s set to come out at some point in 2024. That’s something the latest PlayStation blog has clearly mentioned. On a side note, it has also stated that the game “is looking promising“.

The single-player experience will have “sharp action with stunning visuals and a mature narrative to create something all new. Players will have to master a balanced offense and defense to survive against hordes of out-of-this-world enemies.”
Speaking of its development, Stellar Blade is being made on Unreal Engine 4. Initially, it was supposed to come out for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Later, however, the makers made several major changes and tried to focus exclusively on next-gen PS5 hardware. Shift Up wants to harness the power of the PS5 DualSense controller’s haptic feedback. It will enable the studio to offer a fantastic experience in terms of giving feedback on enemy attacks and the accuracy of various weapons.

But, PC players don’t need to worry too much. Although it’s a console exclusive, Stellar Blade will be available for Microsoft Windows as well. The only problem is that a proper release date for the platform isn’t confirmed at the moment.
