This survival horror sequel launched over ten years after its original. The game saw massive fanfare before and after its launch. And as Remedy Entertainment always does, they went ahead and set a new standard for visuals in this title. A game that sets standards in gameplay, storytelling, and visuals, needs to be nominated for several awards. And besides getting nominated, Alan Wake ended up winning too.

How would a game development studio celebrate the success of its game? Well, they would bring a rock band to the venue of the Game Awards show and they would give their fans a live show. That’s exactly what Remedy Entertainment decided to do. And it was a moment to behold.

Yes, indeed, Remedy Entertainment decided to bring their longtime collaborator band, Poets of the Fall. They visited the show as their in-game persona, Old Gods of Asgard, and gave an incredible performance of one of the popular tracks from the game. In this performance, they were joined by actors Alan Wake, and Ilkka Villi.

Wonder, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom were nominated for this category too. It is an incredible and surprising feat that Alan Wake 2 ended up winning, even though it stood against some evidently good-looking and well-designed titles.
