GTA 6 fans just can’t stop comparing it to Red Dead Redemption 2. Ever since Rockstar Games released the record breaking trailer last year in December, players have spent countless hours breaking down the trailer. While the main Campaign mode is the focus for everyone, there is also the big question of what the next GTA will offer beyond the main story. And this is something RDR2 handled very well.

Five years after its release, Red Dead Redemption 2 is still considered a benchmark in gaming. Be it gameplay, storytelling, interactiveness or its memorable characters, it delivered in every way. So it’s natural for fans to make early comparisons between one of Rockstar Games’ best games till date and GTA 6. After all, the latter will be the biggest project yet from Rockstar Games in the studio’s 25-year history.

Players would love to see enjoyable and wholesome side content in GTA 6 just like Red Dead Redemption 2

RDR2 had a brilliant campaign mode. But unlike many games, it offered so much to do even after completing the game. And we’re not talking about side missions per se. The game included fun, interactive activities like poker, bounty hunting, and fishing. Not to mention quests involving hunting and stranger missions. So what about GTA 6?

Well, that’s the exact question posed by some fans on the internet. Recently, a Reddit user shared a post while expressing their hope to see more side quests and wholesome activities in GTA 6. The user wrote, I’m curious if you guys think GTA 6 will have more side content?

It makes sense given the fact that GTA 6 will feature the biggest map so far in the entire open-world series. A massive open world isn’t necessarily always a good thing. Roaming around a huge map is fun, but after a point, it could get monotonous, unless there are things to do. GTA 5 and RDR2 are just 2 of the many examples. Looking beyond Rockstar Games, there are classic examples like the Assassin’s Creed games. Take Black Flag or Odyssey for example. Without shanties, bounties, and board-games at taverns to name a few side activities, would roaming across Ubisoft’s huge open worlds have been even half as interesting?

Similarly, there won’t be much use of having a Titanic-sized map of Vice City if it won’t have enough plenty of side quests and objectives to keep players engaged beyond the main story, activities that players can engage in at any time, activities that players can engage in to take a break from the main game and just have some fun.

All things considered, Rockstar Games will have to pull out all the stops to make GTA 6 better than RDR2. With each new installment, the studio tends to outdo its previous titles. Only time will tell if GTA 6 will fit that pattern.
