While speaking on Gauff, they stated, “I think Coco is learning and still improving but Kerber is probably different than she’s faced all year long with the lefty game and not a lot of paces all the time and keeping her shots very low on the grass and not a big serve but a well-placed serve.”

They felt that Kerber had a much better game on grass than Gauff. The consistency in her shot-making along with understanding the dynamics of the grass-court was superior. However, they maintain that it’s a learning experience and she will only get better with time.

The journalists further added, “She’s a very smart player and I think that Coco will probably learn from this. It wasn’t a terrible performance by Coco but I think when she gets back on the hard courts this summer, we’re going to see some better results from her and I think she is going to be a much bigger threat at the US Open.”

It will be interesting to see how the youngster performs during the US Open Series. She will surely be cheered upon as she will be playing in front of her home crowds.
