Irina and Alexander raised both their sons, <a href="https://www.essentiallysports.com/who-is-alexander-zverevs-brother-mischa-zverev/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mischa</a> and Alexander "Sascha" Zverev to follow in their footsteps, into the world of tennis.

Alexander Zverev had never won an ATP match before he reached the last four at the International German Open at the age of 17.
In the 2016 Halle Open semi-finals, he defeated <a href="https://www.essentiallysports.com/tag/roger-federer/">Roger Federer</a> and ended his streak of ten consecutive appearances in the final. He won his first ATP title at the 2016 St. Petersburg Open.
