When Jack Nicklaus teamed up with the Bryan brothers for a social cause

Golf legend Nicklaus is known for more than just his records on the field. His 18 major championship victories might be the biggest reason for his undying fame. But his contributions to society have been another part of his fan following. Nicklaus has been doing everything in his hands to help the ones in need. And he once partnered with the famous Tennis twins to raise combined funds for their respective children’s charities.

The sports stars came together and organized The Fore Love Tournament back in 2017. The event consisted of a three-day schedule, beginning with a welcome party at The Bear’s Club in Jupiter, Florida. Everyone participating in the tournament got their hands on leather gift bags with special Roger Federer-signed racquets. Together, Nicklaus and the tennis legends raised $1.1 million. The amount went straight to the Bryan Bros. Foundation and the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation.

Moving on, they spent the next day playing tennis at Nicklaus’ residence with Andy Murray, the Bryan Brothers, and other ATP stars. Donors, who came forward to pay $50,000 each, got a chance to play and rub shoulders with some of the most famous athletes in the world. “It was such a magical event. Everyone was so warm and friendly and we all left with memories to last a lifetime,” said Bob Bryan.

The tennis match on Sunday was followed by a golf tournament on Monday with Jack Nicklaus, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Dustin Johnson, Jason Dufner, Lucas Glover, and Daniel Berger on the field. “Everyone got a chance to play against or alongside the 13 pros,” said Bob Bryan. Things came to a beautiful end for the event with the Bryan Brothers Band alongside Counting Crows‬ drummer Jim Bogios.
