The video starts with Poulter getting off a plane, and driving to the golf course so he can meet Sainz. While giving Sainz tips on his swing (which worked!), Poulter also asked him about starting on golf. As per Sainz, his father started him on golf, forcing him into classes when he was a kid. “Now I thank him for it,” he said. Sainz explained that it is the only sport where, for hours, you focus and relax, not worrying about anything else.

How has Sainz’s recent performance been?

The video was shot ahead of the US Grand Prix, where Sainz finished seventh. While he did hope for a better result, he was somewhat happy with the result. “Surprisingly, we managed to turn the soft into a medium, so to speak, with more grip,” he said. This indicates that his setup was good, the expected ‘extreme degradation’ not taking place.
