Thus, it was no surprise to see two known golfers accept the same. While on the one hand, Max Homa had an interesting revelation associated with the NBA icon, on the other hand, his Ryder Cup teammate Brooks Koepka came forth with a worthy confession.

The loss to the European side at the biennial event has been a tough time to go through for the American side. While many players have come forth to acknowledge the character shown by the team and the support each of them displayed for one another, the concern of revival and getting back to a winning mindset for the US stars remains.

Amidst this, Max Homa uploaded a tweet highlighting similar lines of thought, gaining strong agreement from teammate Brooks Koepka as well. While addressing his “first day of the off-season at home,” the PGA Tour golfer revealed about still waking up at 4 in the morning, showing the character of a true sportsman. However, with due credit to himself for the unexpected schedule, Homa revealed basketball icon Kobe Bryant to be his inspiration for the same.

In the said tweet, the golfer mentioned, “I’ve read so many stories like this about Kobe and his dedication.” His comment indicated how the golf star wanted to replicate a life-changing mindset implemented by Kobe Bryant in his lifetime, extending how the late star continued to work relentlessly, even when “he had every excuse to take a break.” Calling his work ethic and dedication “one of the many things I admired about him,” Max Homa’s post indulged yet another fan of the basketball player.

Acknowledging the greatness of the veteran star, Brooks Koepka, under the tweet, replied, “My hero.” This immediately takes the mind back to multiple instances where the LIV star has displayed similar character and discipline in his game as the Basketball icon used to. Though, amidst all the disclosure of inspiration, Max Homa was quick to go back to his usual humorous self, taking a jab at himself toward the end of the tweet, saying, “I scrolled on my phone for two hours.”

Just like his hero, Koepka shares a strong mindset

There is hardly anyone in the basketball world who would be unaware of the fact of how hardworking Kobe Bryant is. The basketball legend has been known for his resilient and never-giving-up attitude. This has, in fact, been acknowledged by numerous other NBA legends. One of them is Caron Butler, who once credited the 5× NBA champion for teaching him what professional and hard work looked like.

Similar is the case with the 5-time major winner who once shed light on his strong mindset. Just like Bryant who valued hard work, Brooks Koepka admitted that aims to work dedicatedly in pursuit of his dreams. During one of his LIV Golf interviews, the star golfer divulged how he puts in a lot of effort behind the scenes.

For the 2023 PGA Championship winner, the reason behind his diligence is so that he can set “a good example” for his newborn. Koepka once said, “I just want him to see what hard work is,” and he appears to be doing fine with it.

Taking the example of the recent Ryder Cup, where the Saturday foursome witnessed Koepka and Scottie Scheffler being mercilessly defeated by Ludvig Aberg and Viktor Hovland, the Sunday singles brought forth a resilient Koepka who overpowered the young Aberg.
