Golf is not an easy game to play and NBA legend Michael Jordan agrees. The former Chicago Bulls star has always been a fan of golf, and consistently expressed his love for it openly. Jordan may have retired from the basketball court but the legendary player has often graced the golf course with his appearances. Dubbed the “Greatest Basketball Player Ever” Jordan has witnessed the kind of success only a few players can.

Besides his NBA career earnings, he has been a farsighted businessman and has earned millions from various brand partnerships. The five-time MVP now owns an NBA Team named Charlotte Hornets and a NASCAR team 23XI. These smart decisions have contributed to his reaching the status of a billionaire, an extraordinary achievement even after retirement. Despite several setbacks and hardships, he has earned everything from scratch and carved a name for himself in history. Yet his love for golf has always remained a constant in his life.

Michael Jordan once called Golf the “hardest game on the planet”

In 2021 while giving an interview to Golf Channel for the Ryder Cup, Jordan talked about his love for golf. “From a competitive standpoint to me, it is the hardest game on the planet. I can always respond to an opponent, defensive guy, offensive guy, whatever. But in golf, it’s like playing in a mirror and you are battling yourself consistently to try to get perfection. Every swing, every putt.”

Jordan has tried to bring perfection to the golf course and loved the struggle it presents to players, which helps in making their game even better. Sharing this precious reminder, golf page Zire Golf, posted a clip on their Instagram account.

Given his love for sports, it is not surprising at all that the Bulls Champion even has his own Golf course, The Grove XXIII, located in Hobe Sound, Florida. He had the course designed in a specific way so that ‘it gives him an advantage when competing against other golfers, especially the pros.’ Jordan has always appreciated the rigor and hard work that goes into golf and has been a sheer admirer of it.
