

Golf legend and LIV Golf ‘shark,’ Greg Norman, has had a great history in the sport. The golfer made tons of records on the field in his prime years. Refusing to become a ceremonial player, Norman shifted his interests to business. However, there was a time when he used to play golf not just in tournaments, but also with friends from other fields. And he once shared his experiences playing with NBA legend Michael Jordan.

Most golf fans who know about Greg Norman, also know NBA great Michael Jordan. The former American basketballer has millions of fans across the world. Like Norman, Jordan is also famous for his entrepreneurial interests and business ventures.

Fans must have heard stories about Michael Jordan being friends with golf star Tiger Woods. However, he also had great terms with Woods’ biggest rival, Greg Norman. Moreover, the two also used to play rounds of golf together when Jordan developed an interest in the sport.

According to Golf.com, Norman once shared details about his time with the NBA pro on the golf course. On being asked if he had ever played with Jordan, Norman replied, “I have”. And it doesn’t end there. Norman also had huge words of appreciation for the basketballer and his passion for golf.

“Michael was a hell of a player. I mean that in the amateur sense.” the Aussie said. “His passion for the game was probably commensurate with his passion on the court. I’ve never seen an amateur who wanted to learn as much, or play as much, as Michael. It was contagious for me. It was fun to be around him. He didn’t mind slamming down a bet that he thought would scare you.”

Norman also talked about how Jordan tried to match his skills but failed at hitting straight shots. And eventually, that would give Norman an advantage over his pal. “I’d power one out there and he’d try to match it and it wouldn’t go as straight, so I’d have an advantage there. You’d get into that mental side.” Norman explained.

Despite being one of the greatest players in basketball, Jordan had a keen interest in learning golf. And he didn’t only play for fun, but sometimes, even proved to be a great competition for Norman and his other golfing buddies. And even his old buddy Tiger Woods would agree to this.
