One cannot follow both golf and NBA without hearing about Michael Jordan’s love for golf. After all, the Chicago Bulls legend’s influence spreads across the globe. LPGA star Danielle Kang is no different. The young golfer recently met Michael Jordan, leaving her extremely starstruck.

Kang is currently playing the Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio, her 2022 to an amazing start.

A meeting with Michael Jordan leaves Danielle Kang awestruck

Enjoying her first win in 17 months, Kang seems to be having a wonderful time. The 29-year-old discussed her brief meeting with Jordan, where the six-time NBA champion congratulated her. “He even – he comes up and says hi and says, ‘Hey, DK, you won last week, congrats’. And I’m just staring at him, ‘this is Michael Jordan. It’s so cool,'” Kang explained.

Kang was reportedly also invited to play at Jordan’s very exclusive Grove XIII course. She admitted that she did play there, and it was one of the coolest places she has been to.

It’s been days since Kang’s win at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, certainly making it a cheerful time for the California native. She ended up meeting Wayne and Janet Gretzky following that, and also celebrated Gretzky’s birthday.

Of course, it is not over for Kang just yet. She has to hone her skills more and surely plans to work with coach Butch Harmon about the same. “I think I’m focused too much on how to guide the ball more so than just hitting it. But I don’t mind it. It is what it is,” she said. “Trying to hit the best shot I can hit, and I hit some really great drives and really bad drives, and I’m OK with that; made some good putts.”

Fans react

Fans seemed to love the brief Jordan-Kang interaction. “MJ is probably there saying “I just congratulated DK on her win last week!” someone wrote, adding that it was indeed all very cool. “This is wholesome,” commented another fan, referring to an older Nelly Korda Tiger Woods interaction.
