Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth won Capital One’s ‘The Match’ against Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. Winning against the team of the G.O.A.T. and the reigning world no. 1 would have to be a dream come true for the best friends duo. However, it was not an easy win for them, especially for Thomas, who also had to indulge in intense interactions with the TNT broadcaster, Charles Barkley

Barkley is infamous for being one of the best trash talkers in NBA history. And after being an NBA star-turned-analyst, he knows how to stir up the entities to make an event entertaining.

Since TNT was broadcasting The Match VII, and Charles Barkley works as an analyst there, he was the prime commentator at the event. And his target at the exhibition event was JT, and the former power forward of Houston Rockets chose one of the golfer’s weakest points to ignite a feud with him.

On the other hand, Barkley played three seasons of collegiate-level basketball while he attended Auburn University. And the former NBA star used the rivalry between their universities to begin a ‘trash-talk’ battle with the 2-time major champion.

All JT did was chuckle when the TNT broadcaster started being his usual self and distracting him with his nasty comments. However, he couldn’t help himself from retaliating when Barkley called his alma mater “Alabama University.”

“I know you went to Auburn,” Thomas said to the Hall of Famer. “You may not be the brightest, but you know it’s the University of Alabama.” Notably, the 29-year-old’s comment did touch Barkley as he was quick to say, “noted,” after his bold comeback.

Thomas and Jordan Spieth are known for their mutual interest in good competition. They even created a record at the Presidents Cup recently. However, most spectators were rooting for their rivals at Match VII, Tiger Woods, and Rory McIlroy

Additionally, Barkley and Thomas’ interesting feud in the event also could have interrupted their game. However, the team of best friends didn’t let it grow on them. They dominated the tournament from the start and won it over Woods and McIlroy with a 3&2
