The two-time finals MVP Kevin Durant is playing as a forward for the Phoenix Suns. The basketball team made a huge blockbuster deal and acquired Durant from the Brooklyn Nets. However, the effects of this trade were not confined to the basketball world only. It reached the golf world too.
WM Phoenix Open hit the grounds of the TPC Scottsdale – Stadium Course yesterday. The PGA Tour pros have been showcasing their excellent golf skills in Scottsdale. However, jersey number 35 Durant was the highlight of the event and not the golfers. The winner of the 2009 Open Championship, Stewart Cink, wore Durant’s jersey to the famous 16th hole .

Along with Kyle Porter from CBS, the official Twitter handle of the PGA Tour also shared the news. They shared a picture and a video snippet of Cink making the putt with Durant’s jersey and parred the 16th hole. Fans went crazy and bombarded the comment section. However, it was not the first time a golfer wore a jersey on the famous par-3 hole. Before Cink, it was Max Homa who paid tribute along with Tony Finau. They both wore Kobe Bryant‘s jersey in 2020.

The PGA Tour professionals Jon Rahm and Billy Mayfair were also not behind. They both are Arizona grads who once wore the No. 42 ASU jersey of Pat Tillman. However, Cink was still the talk of the town and slayed in the Basketball player’s jersey. But fans did not hype it as much as it was expected. One fan said, “A professional athlete wearing another professional athlete’s jersey while competing. Very normal.” And the most asked question was, “How he get 1 already.” It might be a fair question, given that they just made the trade.
