The NBA champion chose the message of Woods because it mentioned Charlie. The statement from the former number one read, “Quick nine with Charlie and me?” Smith was sure of his answer, so he shared the post in the golf digest and wrote, “I’m sorry Charlie wins all day.”

Without even thinking, he chose Charlie because that is what he expects of him. It was a big nod from the NBA legend that he was on the right path for the little Woods.
