Lexi Thompson is all set to kick off the second event of the Aramco Team Series in Florida. The second leg of the event which began on 19th May and concludes on 21st May, will have top female golfers competing for the individual title on its last day. It is scheduled to be held at the Trump International Golf Club.

This is one of the most important games of Thompson’s career as she will be competing for the individual title of Aramco Series at the home front. The star player who was born in Coral Springs, Florida is presented with the opportunity to defend the prize and represent her native land on its sacred ground. The golf star is super stoked as she will have family and friends at the home course cheering for her. Before the big match, Lexi answered some big questions at a recent conference regarding Donald Trump!

Lexi Thompson’s thoughts on golfing buddy Donald Trump.

At the news conference held at Trump International, Thompson indulged in answering some questions ahead of the match. And one of the important questions asked was “How is it being a golfing buddy of Donald Trump’s?” 

To this, the 28-year-old answered, “I’ve played with Mr. Trump quite a bit being out here 10-plus years. I’ve seen him out a lot, and played a lot of rounds with him. He’s a big supporter of women’s golf and my family as well. We’re forever grateful of that friendship.”

The interviewer then asked Lexi “What does Trump has to work on golf wise?” to which Ms. Thompson replied “He drives it straight. I’m always on his team. We make a good team. He’s a pretty good golfer — not too bad. And he absolutely loves the game. Just a big supporter of golf.”

Previous social media backlash that devastated Thompson

The LGPA star has been very attentive towards not making any comments related to political matters, but still seemed to face backlash. On few past occasions, Thompson has been Mr. Trump’s golf partner. He was first seen cheering for her at the 2017 US Women’s Open. Some years back when Lexi’s game at Trump International Golf Club with Rush Limbaugh and Donald Trump surfaced online, Lexi had to take a break from social media due to hurtful comments that she received.

Last year Lexi brought home with her the Individual Title of Aramco for the round held in New York. This year joining Thompson on the West Palm Beach course will be LPGA stars Lydia Ko, Jessica Korda, Aditi Ashok, and others. The competition will be tough but worth it as the winner goes home with a $75000 paycheck.
