Tony Finau is a famous American professional who currently plays on the PGA Tour. For someone as well versed with the sports and the players, Tony surely knows his share of golfers. He recently shared his top five players from the field of golf. And definitely, we were all ears.

Finau gave a conclusive list of the top five players he has played with. He provided reasons for why he put the players on the list. However, he did say that five is too less of a number and that it was a hard choice.

The players that landed on the list included Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy, and Brooks Koepka.

For his 5th choice, which was Brooks Koepka, he said, “You don’t win four major championships without being a great putter under pressure. In my eyes, he’s a future Hall of Fame player.”

He put Rory McIlroy in the fourth position. He said, “I don’t know anyone who swings as freely as him throughout the history of our game.”

For Justin Thomas, he said, “He’s got a heck of a resume already, and with his competitive spirit, he’s only going to get better.”

Next was Dustin Johnson, Finau said, “Man … what a freak of an athlete when it comes to golf. He’s arguably the best player in our era up to this point in his career.”

Tiger Woods made it to the top of Tony’s list. He talked about his comeback in 2019 and called it the greatest comeback in the history of the game. He called Tiger the greatest player of all time.

Tony and his philosophy on success

Tony had made back-to-back wins in August. He was aiming for his third straight that week at the FedExCup Playoffs opener in Memphis, when he shared his philosophy about success in life.

Finau said, “They say a winner is just a loser that kept on trying, and that’s me to a tee. How many times do I lose? But one thing I won’t do is give up, and I’m only here as a winner because I chose not to give up and just kept going.”

Finau’s inspirational words made rounds in the Sports World. People from different sports took notice of Tony’s philosophy. Moreover, renowned Tennis player, Shelby Rogers, also appreciated Tony Finau for his heartfelt motivation and said that it really resonated with her.
