The proceedings are underway in Minnesota at the 2022 3M Open. On a dry, windy day, the scores remained low as American golfer Scott Piercy shared the lead alongside Sungjae Im at 6-under 65. Apart from that, World no. 14 Hideki Matsuyama withdrew from the Open citing a sore wrist as he landed the ball in the water thrice on what was a miserable day for him. As the competition gets more intense, let’s take a look at the prize money distribution for the 156 members taking on the field.

Since debuting on the PGA Tour calendar in 2019, the 3M Open will witness its highest hike in terms of total purse for all participating members. The purse has been increased to $7.5 million, a whopping jump considering there was no hike for the 2021 edition.
Likewise, the winner will take home $1.35 million, while every member among the top 19 places at the end of the event will bag prize money in excess of $100K.
