

The LPGA Tour moves to Las Vegas for the 2022 Bank of Hope LPGA Match Play this week. It is being played at the beautiful and challenging Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas. The field for this week’s event includes some of the big names battling it out for the event in a matchplay format. The defending champion at the 2022 Bank of Hope LPGA Match Play
Ally Ewing won the 2021 edition of the matchplay event. The American professional defeated Sophia Popov in the event’s final match in 2021. Notably, last year’s event took place at the same venue as this year’s edition will. Ally won the event after ending 2up through 14 holes over the German professional.
As a result, she won the event with four holes still left to play. Ewing won the second and the sixth hole on the opening nine holes. She made a par and a birdie on the second and the sixth holes, respectively. As a result, she was 2up on Sophia after nine holes. However, Ally lost the 11th hole after making a bogey, five. But she bounced back and won the 14th hole with a birdie.
The 2022 edition of the event is into the third round of the round-robin stage. Meaning the event is now into its closing stages, with just the knockout stage left to play after today. Not to forget, the field for this week’s LPGA Tour event includes some of the big names in the female professional circuit like Minjee Lee, Hannah Green, and the defending champion, Ally Ewing. Winner’s payout at the 2022 Bank of Hope LPGA Match Play
This week’s event marks the 11th tournament of the 2022 LPGA Tour season. The total number of players playing this week is 64, with the event being distributed into three round-robin stages, leading to a 16-player, single-elimination event. The event does not include any cutline after 36-holes.
The total prize money purse for the event stands at a whopping $1.5million, with the winner of the tournament taking home a prize-money share worth $225,000 after the elimination stage, which is the standard 15 percent payout according to the LPGA Tour’s prize money distribution chart.

Apart from the catchy prize money, the winner of this event will earn 500 points towards Race to the CME Globe. On top of that, the top 60 players in the standings after the Pelican Women’s Championship will get into the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship. The other incentives for the winner include a two-year exemption on the Tour and entry into some of the major events.
