2022 ISPS Handa Australian Open: Prize Money Breakdown and Winner’s Payout

The ISPS Handa Australian Open has initiated the most awaited competition between golfers from all around the world. And the most unique part of the tournament is the fact that it includes tournaments for both men and women players. It is the first national open event featuring 108 women and 156 men playing in conjunction. But how much is the total purse for the event? And how much will the winner earn as prize money?

The women’s and men’s championships are going to be played simultaneously. And the initial two rounds will be held at Melbourne’s Kingston Heath Golf Club, which is one of Australia’s finest courses, and the Victoria Golf Club, Cheltenham. All players will be competing in alternating groups of men and women. There is going to be another tournament named the Australian All Abilities Championship featuring players with disabilities playing competitively.

Which famous players are present on the field?

Kipp Popert, who is one of the best players in the Australian All Abilities Championship, will be playing in the last three days of the tournament. The men’s championship will feature World No.3, Cameron Smith, who recently won the Australian PGA Championship. And giving him a tough fight will be Ryan Fox and Adam Scott who also fall under the world’s top 50. Smith’s friend from LIV Golf, Marc Leishman, will also play in the tournament. While other players include Nicolai and Rasmus Hojgaard and Pole Adrian Meronk.

Coming to the women’s tournament, seven-time major champion Karrie Webb is one of the most talented players on the field. And along with her is TPS Murray River’s winner Hannah Green. Another player who has taken the attention of fans at the event is Minjee Lee, who also won the US Women’s Open. While Chevron Championship winner Jennifer Kupcho and AIG Women’s Open champion Ashleigh Buhai are also present on the field.

Total purse, prize money, and winner’s share for the tournament

Fans are excited to see their favorite players compete in the most awaited tournament. And one of the most exciting parts of the event is that the prize money for both men’s and women’s tournaments is equal! The event is set to be played with a total purse of AUD$1.7m in each tournament. While the winner of each tournament will receive AUD$270,000 as their share.
