The Daly duo, defending champions of the PNC Championship, finished second this year. They carded a 15-under 57 in the closing round, scrambling the format. However, they scored a record of 27 under en route to winning for the first time in six starts. Daly, along with his son, earned $200,000. It was the PGA Championship winner’s biggest paycheck. The last big check was on PGA TOUR Champions in the 2017 Insperity Invitational.

Why was Daly playing with one leg?
PNC Championship this year was not only about families playing together in Orlando, but it was also about injuries. Ankle, foot, and knee were the most prominent injuries we heard about during the event. And one of them belongs to John Daly. Along with Tiger Woods‘ injury, Daly was also lagging in his game. However, he was still better than many.
The major championship winner explained his absence in the coming days, saying, “I’m getting my knee replacement done Wednesday, full knee replacement. So I’ll be out for a while.” Daly put aside the fact of knee replacement due to osteoarthritis and focused on playing with his son. However, he used a cart to move around the golf course.
