The 2022 Lotte Championship was yet another enthralling event in the 2022 season. As a result, this week, the field for the event had some big names in female golf battling it out at the beautiful Hoakalei Country Club. Moreover, with the event being the eighth event of the 2022 LPGA Tour season, let’s take a look at what is at stake for the professionals at the event.

Winner of 2022 Lotte Championship

The South-Korean professional, Hyo Joo Kim, is the event’s winner in its 2022 edition. Moreover, the 26-year-old professional won the event with an overall score of 11-under-par. As a result, Kim won the event with a two-shot lead after the final round ended. Chiefly, she registered a final round of one-under-par, 71 to seal her victory at Hoakalei Country Club.

Her final round of 71 featured two birdies and one bogey on the opening nine holes of her final round. As a result, Hyo moved out in one-under-par, 35. She made one birdie and a single bogey on the back nine. As a result, she finished on the top of the leaderboard.

Moreover, Hinako Shibuno, the Japanese professional, finished as the runner-up to Kim. Hinako ended the event with an overall score of nine-under-par. As a result, she had to settle for a solo second position finish at the event. Moreover, she carded a final round of two-under-par, 70 to cement her position second on the leaderboard.

Winner’s payout at the event

The star-studded field this week on the LPGA Tour included the likes of Lydia Ko, who was also the defending champion heading into the event. Moreover, the entire field included 144 professionals, the professionals were reduced to 70 players after the cutline came into force after 36 holes. The total prize money purse for the event was at a whopping $2million, the same as last year.

The winner’s share that Hyo took home was $300,000, which is the standard 15 percent according to the LPGA Tours prize money distribution chart. Moreover, from the money that was at stake, the event’s winner also took 500 Race to CME Globe points, in turn, which will help Kim get into the top 60 and as a result,  help her to qualify for the season-end event.
