The 2022 PGA Championship is currently underway at the Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma. And after round one, Rory McIlroy leads the event with a score of -5. The conditions were diabolic, specifically the winds on day one. Moreover, we can expect similar conditions with more gutsy winds during the second round.

But how will he be the weather conditions for the third and fourth rounds? Will players get some relief from the strong winds? Or will it continue to give nightmares? Well, as of now, the forecast for tomorrow doesn’t look great. There is a substantial chance of thunderstorms in Tulsa, especially in the morning.

According to accuweather.com, the wind speed might be around 25 to 30 mph during round three. Moreover, the conditions will remain cloudy throughout the day. Therefore, the temperature will not be like what we have seen in the past couple of days. 

For the final round, there is a chance of precipitation early in the morning. However, the conditions will start improving as the day progresses. Also, the wind gusts will probably remain the same between 20 to 30 mph. But an interesting thing to note is that the direction of the wind might change on the final day. Hence, this could change the whole conditions and difficulties of the golf course.

So it will be fascinating to see how players adapt to this changing weather forecast. Therefore, we can expect upheaval on the leaderboard on a moving day and make things interesting on the final day.

Rory McIlroy takes the early lead at the 2022 PGA Championship

Rory McIlroy took the lead at the 2022 PGA Championship after round one. He carded an incredible 65 for the day, with seven birdies and two bogeys. The Irishman put on an exhibition of driving as he was hitting some impeccable shots with his driver. Moreover, he was decent enough with his iron shots as well.

But the thing that stood out the most was his game on the greens. He was putting the ball beautifully and finally looked in complete control of his game. Additionally, he played his round with Tiger Woods and Jordan Spieth, as both these golfers have made a struggling start to their PGA Championship.

So Rory will be hopeful of continuing this form going into the weekend. His primary aim will be to be in contention on the final day and win his fifth major championship.
