The 2022 QBE Shootout is through with the initial days of the tournament and the field is full of talented players. A total of 24 players are present in 12 groups containing 2 golfers each. The 54-hole tournament was first played in 1989 as the RMCC Invitational. However, with changing times, the event has reached a new pedestal and fans are excited to see their favorite players in action. But how much is the prize money this year for the tournament? And what will be the winner’s share of the total purse?

Which top players are present on the field in the 2022 QBE Shootout?
The field is filled with some of the best players in the world. World No. 2, Nelly Korda, and World No. 7, Lexi Thompson, have entered the competition. The event is being played at the Tiburon Golf Club in Florida, and the two LPGA stars are among the top players this season. Korda and Thompson are teamed with Denny McCarthy and Maverick McNealy respectively.

If one was to compare, Thompson is certainly more experienced with the tournament than Korda. While Korda is making her debut in the event, Thompson is playing for the sixth time. The field also includes Billy Horschel, who will be teaming up with Jason Day.

Another famous, and rather successful, the player in the tournament is Harris English. The golfer has won the tournament 3 times which include his victory in 2020. Moreover, he is teaming up with the same partner he had then, American professional Matt Kuchar. Other players include Max Homa teaming up with Kevin Kisner, and Cameron Young alongside K.H. Lee.

Total purse, prize money, and winner’s share for the tournament
The QBE Shootout is being played for a total purse of $3.8 million. And the winning team will be pocketing $950,000 as their share. The winning amount will be divided into equal shares of $475,000 each between the two players. Here is the individual as well as team prize money for the players making the cut in the tournament:

What is Greg Norman’s role in the tournament?
Despite being the mastermind behind the biggest rival of the PGA Tour and LPGA Tour, LIV CEO, Greg Norman, has a strong indirect connection to the tournament. The QBE Shootout is being played at the Tiburon Golf Club in Florida, which includes two courses designed by Norman. The courses are named the Gold Course and the Black Course. The magnificent club also hosts the LPGA Tour’s season finale, which is the CME Group Tour Championship.
