2022 ZOZO Championship: $11 Million Prize Money Breakdown and Winner’s Payout

The PGA Tour is conducting a tournament outside of the United States for the first time in its all-new season. Fans are excited to watch their favorite players compete in the 2022 ZOZO Championship at Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club in Chiba, Japan. But what is the total purse for this year’s tournament? And how much will the winner take home from the prize money?

Which famous players are competing at the ZOZO Championship?

The first name that is in every fan’s mind right now is last year’s champion, Hideki Matsuyama, who is back on the field to defend his title. The Japanese professional golfer surprised his fans with an eagle on the 72nd hole last year and consequently winning the championship. Next up is world No. 6 and Olympic gold medalist, Xander Schauffele. The golfer is currently the highest-ranked player on the field and he is making his debut for the 2022-23 PGA Tour season.

Another player making his debut for the season with this tournament is Collin Morikawa. World No.9 hasn’t won a game since the 2021 DP World Tour Championship. But the fans are also looking forward to watching one more player perform on the field. It is none other than Tom Kim, who recently won the Shriners Children’s Open and matched a Tiger Woods record.

Total purse, winner’s share, and prize money for the tournament

Fans are eagerly waiting for the best PGA Tour players to win the grand winning amount from the tournament. The total purse for this year’s ZOZO Championship is set to be $11 million. While the winner will pocket $1.9m along with the title for the event. Here is a breakdown of the individual prize money for all the players who will make the cut:

More about the Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club

The course opened its doors for professional tournaments back in 1965. And the first event to be hosted at the country club was the 1968 Japan Championship. Since then, the Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club has been hosting numerous professional events every year. It was designed by Shinya Fujita and is considered to be one of the most imposing courses in Japan.

There are 36 holes at the venue, but the ZOZO Championship will display a composite of the two tracks on the course. After the Suntory Open was played at the club, it was not surprising to find out that the same course will be hosting the ZOZO Championship.
