The action-packed golfing week is here! Just before we move towards the second major of the year, the fans will experience two golfing events featuring top names. Well, for the Myrtle Beach Classic, teeing off at the golf capital of the world, the event will feature 132 prominent names of the PGA Tour. Teeing off from May 8-11, the week is going to be a golfing delight for the fans. With the iconic venue and long-winded players’ roster, five names will be the center of attention due to their ongoing form and performance. So here are the top five names to look out for at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club.

Tom Kim
Tom Kim, the South Korean professional who once achieved 11th OWGR at the age of 21, is now at the center of attention with his play. Earlier this season, he was part of the Jupiter Links team at the TGL and was seen sharing some notable moments with Tiger Woods. Now, with his participation being the current World No. 41, he is receiving all the attention from fans. The golfer has notably achieved outstanding success with his 12 professional wins, including three on the PGA Tour. Even in 2023, he was the runner-up at the Open Championship.
Now, with such great finishes in the past and a T7 at the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-AM, the South Korean sits at the top of the list.
Mackenzie Hughes
The Kent State University alum is in significant form when he finds his rhythm. With four professional wins, including two on the PGA Tour, the golfer has kept the expectations high with his performance. However, in the past, he has struggled with consistency as he won his last event in 2022. Now, in 2025, the Canadian professional has showcased a glimpse of redemption with his finishes. Starting the schedule with a missed cut, the 34-year-old struggled to finish in the top 20, but with his past three performances, he has shown a glimpse of victory. Out of the last three appearances, he recorded 10th place at the Texas Children’s Houston Open and T3 at the RBC Heritage. With the form getting back, it is expected that Hughes will find his third victory on the tour in 2025, but can he?
Ricky Castillo
The rookie who fulfilled his childhood dream on the tour is now making heads turn with his performance. Ricky Castillo, the 24-year-old American, started off his PGA Tour journey with a missed cut, but it didn’t take him long to showcase his real skill set. The golfer soon in his third appearance at the Farmers Insurance Open, finished at T15. Since then, he has continued to improve his results. Notably, he recorded T12 at the Valspar Championship and then at the recent CJ Cup Byron Nelson, he was T5.

Golf isn’t just a sport for Alejandro Tosti, but it is a medium to set an example for the community and people of Argentina. With such great ambitions of setting up an example, the golfer has indeed created history with his performance. Tosti, until now, has five professional wins under his belt, but he still falls behind in adding his first on the PGA Tour. However, the 28-year-old with his performance in 2025 has shown intent towards it. Out of the 12 events participated this year, Tosti recorded two top 15 and two top 5 finishes. Notably, he fell short of one stroke, leading to a T2 finish at the Corales Puntancana Championship. Now, with such great finishes, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Argentine lifting the trophy.

Davis Riley
The Mississippi native has been showcasing his exceptional talent since he turned professional. In 2022, he joined the PGA Tour and in his rookie year, he recorded three top-10 finishes, including a runner-up at the Valspar Championship. Not just this, but since then, each year he has bagged a victory. Now, with his ongoing form, it is expected to repeat the same. Davis Riley has come closer to the title. He was placed T6 at the Puerto Rico Open and seventh at the Valspar Championship. Now with his participation in the Myrtle Beach Classic, can he clinch a victory for the 2025 season?
