In an interview with the Irish Independent, McIlroy said that the two were friends before being romantic partners. The duo got engaged back in 2015 after dating for several months. Despite being a PGA Tour celebrity with a packed schedule, McIlroy loved the idea of living with someone living a normal life. And he saw that idea come true when he first met Wozniacki at Palm Beach.
