Celine Boutier is the newest addition to the list of LPGA major champions. Earlier this Sunday, she won the Evian Championship as well as $1,000,000. She was France’s first-ever winner at the championship. The media and the golf world are stunned at this historic win, Boutier’s second in a span of a few months.

Celine Boutier is ready to give it her all

Celine Boutier had a media round ahead of the Scottish Open. With the AIG Women’s Open scheduled for next week at Walton Heath, many players won’t show up for the Thursday-Sunday event. One such name is Nelly Korda, a close competitor to Boutier at the Amundi Evian Championship.

When the media asked Celine Boutier why she showed up, she explained: “…And I feel like even though Walton Heath is not going to be like links, traditional links, I feel like it’s still good to be in the U.K. and Scotland and to be able to get a feel for the wind and weather and stuff like that. I feel like it was going to be a good week to prepare for the British.”

A star-studded line-up in Scotland, including all four major winners so far in 2023

Japanese player Ayaka Furue will defend her title at the Scottish Open this week. Last year, she defeated Celine Boutier by three shots to lift the trophy. Earlier winners, Ariya Jutanugarn and Mi Hyang Lee will also be on the field looking to turn the clock back.

The 2023 Chevron Championship winner Lilia Vu will also join the field in Scotland. She is looking for a win after having missed four cuts in the last six tournaments since April. Ruoning Yin, the KPMG PGA Championship winner, is another big name headlining the event.

The US Women’s Open Champion Allisen Corpuz is also part of the field. This tells that some of the players who have had big wins this year will be part of the event, making it a thrilling competition, to all intents and purposes. Are you excited for Celine Boutier?
