The six-time major championship winner decided to take some time away from golf after his comments on the Saudi Golf League and the PGA Tour. Recently, yet another grey piece of news about his comeback to golf came to light.

The 45-time PGA Tour winner received severe backlash for comments on the Saudi-backed golf league and the PGA Tour. Moreover, the World Golf Hall of Fame member revealed that he is taking some time off from golf in his apology on February 23rd. He is also not a part of the field for this Weeks WGC Dell Match Play. The Lefty’s fans eagerly wait for the professional to return to golf.
Moreover, Mickelson’s name is not among the list of competitors at the 2022 Masters and thus will not be playing the event. Wow! this must be a huge setback for his fans and Phil himself.

How many times has Phil Mickelson won at the Masters?
Mickelson has won three times at the Masters. His first major championship and his first green jacket came in 2004. He won the 2004 Masters by a whisker. Phil won the event with an overall score of nine-under-par. As a result, he won the event with a one-shot lead. The lefty also won a prize money share worth $1,170,000. His second win at the Augusta National came two years after his first win, in 2006. Phil won his second green jacket with an overall score of seven-under-par, as a result, won the event with a two-shot lead. He carded a final round of 69, three-under-par.
Mickelson’s third victory at Masters came four years after his second one, in 2010. He won the event and his third green jacket with an overall score of 16-under-par. As a result, he won the event with a three-shot lead. Phil carded a final round of 67, five-under-par on his route to victory on Sunday at Augusta. It is disappointing not to see him play at the 2022 Masters.
