But this was no ordinary Tour stop; he pulled out of next week’s Masters field. And his reason was so heartbreaking that everyone in the golf world had only love for him!
PGA Tour star announces his exit from the Masters
The Augusta event is one of the most anticipated in golf. And a spot on its exclusive course is one of the most coveted things in the golf world. Why then did the one-time PGA Tour winner Aaron Wise withdraw from its field just hours ago? Well, putting it simply, he felt like he had no choice.

Wise, who earned himself a spot at the major championship via his ranking as per the OWGR (he currently ranks 45th), announced in a statement yesterday his early exit from the Masters, only a week before it begins. “Regretfully I am withdrawing from The Masters today,” he wrote as per a recent PGA Tour report. “The mental piece of it [golf] has been a struggle for me recently.”

The 2018 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year explained that the sport had taken a mental toll on him and left him incapable of playing his best in recent times. “I don’t take the significance of playing at Augusta lightly,” he stated. “But I know that I need to take some time away to focus on my mental health so I can get back to competing at a level I am proud of.”
The golf world sends prayers and respects Wise’s way
The decision was undoubtedly tough for the golf pro, and the fans knew that too. After all, he was withdrawing from one of the most elite tournaments in the sport. But the golf community understood his troubles, and taking to Instagram, where Golf Monthly posted the news, they showered him with good wishes. “Get well Aaron. Hopefully Augusta brings you back when youre back!” said one fan. “Aaron 🙏 prayers for you,” wrote another.

Fans even went on to express how proud they were of him. “Well done @originalwiseguy. Hope your well and you should be proud of your decision,” commented a golf enthusiast. Another fan stated, “All the strength Aaron.” “Respect. You’ve got to do what you have to do for your long-term health,” said another fan proudly. “Fair play hope he comes back stronger & better,” added the next.
