Tony Finau has succeeded once more! The 33-year-old golfer won the 2023 Mexico Open on Sunday at Vidanta, giving him his sixth PGA Tour triumph overall and second of this season. Finau scored a 5-under 66 to win the tournament at 24 under par and the $1,386,000 first-place prize. Three shots behind the winner at 21 under, defending champion Jon Rahm finished in second place and earned $839,300 in prize money.

But the way Finau celebrated his victory with his wife and kids by his side has everyone’s attention. The touching incident has once again brought attention to Finau’s close relationship with his family and has once again made the golfing community swoon.

The previous year, Finau finished in second place behind Jon Rahm at the Mexico Open; however, the roles were flipped around this time around. Finau won the Mexico Open 2023 against world No. 1 Jon Rahm at the Vidanta Vallarta Golf Club near Banderas Bay on the Pacific coast of Mexico. Following the first three rounds, Finau had a score of 65, 64, and 65, giving him a two-stroke lead going into the final round.

“He’s the best and he’s on top of the world right now and I knew I was going to have my hands full with him all the way to the end,” Finau said about Jon Rahm as per the report by Golfweek. “It’s crazy how this game is, you never think you have a tournament won until it’s over.”

On Sunday, after he won, he hugged his wife Alayna and their five kids, who were waiting for him on the 18th green. Cameras caught the touching moment, and Finau’s teary eyes and wide smile showed how much he loved being with his family at that moment.
