Is LIV Golf rebel Sergio Garcia in trouble?
The 42-year-old Spanish golfer is currently facing many challenges from multiple golf associations. Garcia recently withdrew from the BMW PGA Championship before his second round. The player shot 76 in the opening round but didn’t turn up for the following round in the tournament. As a consequence, Garcia had to pay a fine for not being able to provide a proper medical explanation for his withdrawal. The news was confirmed by a DP World Tour official while speaking to Golf Digest.

On the other hand, Garcia’s tour membership is also coming to an end soon since he has failed to fulfill the minimum criteria to maintain the membership. The golfer has only played in three DP World Tour events so far including the Dubai Desert Classic, BMW International, and the BMW PGA. While he needed to compete in a minimum of four events including one in his hometown and three Rolex Series events.

Along with that happening, Garcia has also made himself ineligible to be a part of the Ryder Cup coming up in Rome. And the DP World Tour is trying to make sure that no LIV Golf rebels get to participate in the tournament. The matter is currently in court and the judgment is awaited. Garcia has 14 DP World Tour wins in his name and holds a reputation on the tour. However, his current situation might leave a huge stain on his image as a golfer on the tour.
