He had called out reporters for asking him the same LIV Golf questions recently at the 2022 U.S. Open. Koepka said he wanted to play golf and did not care about LIV. However, a few days later, they announced Brooks was joining the LIV. So recently, the golfing legend, Sir Nick Faldo, offered his perspective on the same.
“He is a wonderful example of the challenge of playing the tour. We have one thing we call missing the cut, which is what they suddenly don’t like. Brooks is a wonderful example. He started way out, playing on the Asian Tour. He wins in Europe, and he has won four majors. Last week, he is saying, get out of my face. All I want to do is play golf and win. And somebody then hits his number, and off he goes,” said Nick.

“I am really surprised by that because I know when he’s out there, it’s a boat load of cash. It’s also a boat load of mandatory personal appearances, and that’s what they gonna be doing.” Furthermore, Faldo said it is crucial to enjoy what you are doing. “You can’t be standing on the golf course thinking about the reason why I am out here. You can’t fake that,” believes Faldo.
When is the next LIV golf event?
The second event of the Saudi-backed LIV Golf Invitational Series will begin on June 30th at Pumpkin Ridge in Portland, USA. Additionally, the second event will have a stronger field, with Bryson, Patrick, and Brooks joining the league. They will join Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, and other golfers who played in the inaugural event of the LIV Golf Invitational Series.

Meanwhile, the PGA Tour will have John Deere Classic, which is not a prominent event. We might not see leading names like Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, or Jordan Spieth in the field. Hence, we might see an increased viewership for the LIV Golf, which is not a positive sign for the PGA Tour.
