Amid his massive golf prowess, Phil Mickelson is widely known for one other thing on the course: his pranks and jokes! The golfer has cracked the golf world up countless times with his one-liners at press conferences. However, it’s not just the media that falls prey to his witty remarks but also his fellow golfers. And recently, an incident involving one of his favorite victims, Dustin Johnson, came to light!

Lefty undoubtedly has an arsenal full of jokes and quips, but his favorite among them is perhaps the Masters Dinner joke, which the golfer has pulled out to taunt many friends with, and in DJ’s case, multiple times. Until, of course, one fateful day when the two-time major winner savagely shut him down.

The race to be the best in business is quite omnipresent among the players. Earning silverware at prominent tournament stages and getting that green jacket at the Masters is something that all golfers yearn for. Phil Mickelson himself has proven his worth at Augusta three times. This made him not only a prominent figure on the circuit but also gave him access to the exclusive Champions Dinner.

Ever since then, Phil, who loves to hilariously taunt his fellow mates, has taken the exclusive dinner as a means to crack jokes. The 6-time major winner often takes a funny jab at his jacket-less colleagues every Tuesday during the masters week (the night of the famous exclusive Champions Dinner) by asking, “Hey, do you have any dinner plans tonight?”

Over the years, of course, the two have gotten close, and Johnson has unfortunately fallen prey to Mickelson’s witty Masters taunts more than once. Until, of course, one Sunday in 2020, when he found the perfect response to the golfer’s quirky question.

Dustin Johnson savagely took down Mickelson, wearing his prestigious jacket

In November 2020 after many dire attempts, DJ finally won the Augusta event and claimed the Green Jacket as his own. Soon after, he rushed over to Mickelson, and said to him, “I know what I am doing for next year on Tuesday, m**********r.” And while many may have deemed this to be an exaggerated story, Lefty himself confirmed it recently, taking to Twitter!

DJ had savagely taken down his LIV colleague that memorable Sunday afternoon, wiping the Augusta taunt target off his back. But the three-time Masters winner undoubtedly has many more friends and fellow golfers to target with this hilarious taunt. So who do you think will be next? Perhaps Rory McIlroy, whom the Masters have so often eluded? Well, that’s not likely. After all, Lefty recently claimed to know the golfer’s potential answer.
