Tiger Woods’ caddie once bribed a heckler

Tiger Woods’ caddie LaCava once shared details about an incident when a heckler tried to mess with Woods at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in 2018. It was not the first time people tried to get the player’s attention and distract him for fun. LaCava recalled the story, “I said, ‘Hey listen bud, why do you gotta go there? Everyone is having a good time, everyone is pulling for Tiger.’”

“‘If you don’t like the guy, that’s one thing. But you don’t need to be yelling at my guy and screaming negative stuff like that,” he said to the heckler. When anyone from the field usually confronts such people, they tend to shut up or hide. But this heckler didn’t give up that easily.

After exchanging a few statements with the man, LaCava asked him what it would take for him to leave. And to everyone’s surprise, the heckler demanded the $25 that he had paid for the ticket to watch the tournament. “Here you go. Here’s $25.” LaCava said while handing him the money.

Did the heckler leave Woods’ after getting the money?

LaCava continued to talk about the event and said that this man was built a complete idiot. According to the caddie, the man tried to take the money and follow Woods further into the game. “So I ripped off $25…And I said,…You got to head the other way.” LaCava explained.

But little did the caddie realize that while trying to handle this mess, he had gone 20 yards down the line away from Woods. And while he was still dealing with him, Woods needed yardage. LaCava said that soon a cop intervened and sent the caddie back to his duty.
