If it wasn’t evident enough, Michael Jordan feeds on banter. The NBA legend has been a part of numerous folklores narrated by contemporaries that have made the mistake of igniting the bull. Who else has joined the never-talk-smack-to-Jordan club recently? It’s a surprise as 4-time Major Championship winner Brooks Koepka once revealed he made this blunder, which ended in a classic Jordan comeback.

Brooks Koepka plays golf with Michael Jordan
The former World No. 1 once detailed his experience of playing golf with Michael Jordan and his eventful round in an interview with ESPN in 2020. It came at a time when Jordan’s “The Last Dance” was making headlines for an astounding and uncovering documentary.
The real-life saga recorded the everyday life of the successful NBA franchise Chicago Bulls during the 1997-98 season. The well-chronicled series was a hit among fans. Henceforth, Koepka was asked about any experiences with the leading man on the show.

As it happened, the 32-year-old had a rather embarrassing story to tell. “I was 1 up going to 17 tee. We’d been jawing all day and we have like a 40-yard walk back to the 17th tee and he hasn’t said much the last couple of holes,” he said.
“I said something like, ‘I’ve got you right where I want you’.”
Jordan haunts Koepka with serious comeback
Jordan wouldn’t let slip an opportunity like that. His reply to Koepka must have left the latter shivering. “He just tees the ball up, takes his practice swing, and looks at me,” Koepka said.
“It’s the fourth quarter, baby, I don’t lose.”

While Jordan has kept himself busy with golf in the last few years, surely he didn’t possess the skill to beat a former World No. 1 and winner of multiple Major Championships? But true to his word, Jordan smacked Koepka in the last two holes to win the “friendly” match.
While Koepka lost the match, he was quick to make a note of his learning. “It’s probably the last time I’ve smack-talked him,” he said. “I have not played him since, but hopefully we’ll tee it up again soon.”
