In the last sixth of his season, Jordan Spieth missed the fourth cut! The 30-year-old missed the CJ Cup Byron Nelson cut as he shot two rounds of 68-70 and was two strokes over the 6 under cutline. The performance of Spieth has been ordinary at best, but the sudden drop in his performance can be attributed to his wrist injury.

However, the consistent missed cut has not sat well with the golf world. While Jordan Spieth exited the TPC Craig Ranch early, Kris Kim, making his PGA Tour debut as an amateur, still passed the cutline, which Kim expressed was his goal all along.

Kim, at the age of 16 years, 7 months, and 3 days, became the fifth player on the PGA Tour and the first since Kyle Suppa (the 2015 Sony Open in Hawaii) to make a cut, PGA Tour Communications shared on X. It was quite ironic that Spieth missed the cut at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

The disparity on the leaderboard was frustrating for many in the golf world. While the wrist injury was taken into account, the viewers could still not understand Spieth’s game and drew comparisons between Kim and the 13-time PGA Tour to prove that maybe Spieth’s magic had left his side.

Jordan Spieth has been playing on the PGA Tour for more than a decade, and in this span, he has accumulated much silverware, including 13 victories and three majors. He has also had a few records, yet his fourth missed cut of the year had this fan say that Kim was “better than Spieth” because he made the cut.

Maybe it’s time, or maybe it isn’t, but one user thinks Spieth will soon be replaced by a better golfer. They highlighted how the 30-year-old was the highest-ranked player and yet couldn’t perform better. On the other hand, the amateur debutant clutched his last hole to make a cut. They said, “Anyone that thinks golf stars can’t be replaced – THINK AGAIN. @JordanSpieth, the highest-ranked in the field this week misses the cut while this young amateur birdies the 18th hole while sitting on cut line. He and 15-yr old Miles Russell make the golf future bright.”

Another viewer wanted to compliment Kim and sort of sidelined Jordan Spieth in doing that. They called out the irony of Kim making the cut and how they didn’t miss it, while also calling the Texas native a moderate player. the user said, “The irony of him doing this, where Speith did it, while Speith misses a cut as a now middling pro is not lost on me.”

Even the fan account of Spieth that gives updates on his every move, posted a sarcastic tweet about him constantly missing a cut, and wrote, “I am sick of making these graphics.”

Spieth was the only player from the top 20 on the Official World Golf Ranking to play in the CJ Cup, along with Byron Nelson. It was expected that at TPC Craig Ranch, it would be easier for him to score a better round and not miss a cut. However, to everyone’s surprise, Spieth couldn’t make the cut, and as astonished as they were, this user dejectedly said, “Missed cut in an insanely week [weak] field…”
