Greg Norman has been successful in luring out the best players from the PGA Tour to join his Saudi circuit. His money-oriented strategies and short game schedules have worked for most players. But some are still not ready to give up their PGA Tour legacies. And one of these players is Rory McIlroy, who even made a few statements against the LIV Golf rebels. He said“It’s a hard one for me to stomach…18 of those guys are going to be playing in the same field,”. He even said that he didn’t want to be a part of the championship. But owing to his loyalty to the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour, he had to play.

What did Greg Norman say about McIlroy’s stance against LIV Golf?

Greg Norman’s response to McIlroy’s statements pointed towards the golfer’s own alleged hypocritical decisions. McIlroy mentioned how LIV Golf players were doing the wrong thing by joining the new league and leaving the PGA Tour. But Greg Norman turned McIlroy’s statements back on him.

Norman said“Remember, Rory started on the European tour. Then Rory decided to leave the European tour to go play where all the money is, where I went to play, to the PGA Tour.” According to the LIV CEO, McIlroy did the same thing he is accusing the LIV players of doing today. Norman added, “Don’t begrudge the other players for making a decision”.

Norman also talked about the people who stood up against the LIV Golf league and said that their “hypocrisy” was “ridiculous”. He once revealed how a Saudi-based company was one of the biggest sponsors of the LPGA Tour. However, McIlroy still stands strong by his statements and is not in favor of the LIV Golf league.
