Tiger Woods talked about his gift in disguise

Woods underwent knee surgery a few years after he got severely injured. The golfer was advised to take a long time off the sport by doctors after his injury. Nonetheless, Tiger Woods chose to see the brighter side and decided to spend some precious time with his family.

Woods talked about his experience during the rough period he was going through in an interview with ‘Golf Digest’. He opened up about how his physical condition was indeed a gift to him.

It was a chance for the golfer to spend the much-needed time with his family – Elin Nordegren and Sam Alexis. Charlie was yet to be born since Nordegren was expecting a second child at that time.

Woods spent time with his 18-month-old girl, playing and watching her grow up. He said“Watching her learn how to talk — yelling at the dogs like I do. We play catch. She’ll catch it and throw it right back to me. I wouldn’t have seen all of this if I had been playing a lot.”

Woods’ life went high and low all at once

The golfer was already going through a lot in 2006, when all of a sudden, his father Earl Woods passed away. But the end of an era marked the beginning of a new one. Tiger Woods described his time coping with his father, and how he managed to feel better because of his daughter.

“My life changed dramatically when my dad died. Then, after losing my dad, the next year to have Sam — those were polar opposite experiences,” said Woods.

He also mentioned that he went “as low as I could possibly be [and] to be as high as I could possibly be, all in one year.” 

Last year, Woods also got into a car crash which left him with injuries. But despite his hard times, he is still one of the most successful golfers in the world.
