After months of searching for a broadcasting deal, LIV Golf is finally on the brink of having a home in the Television industry. The lucrative Tour is closing a deal with CW Network to broadcast their events from the upcoming season onwards. However, with the Saudi-funded Tour’s new deal, golf fans have noticed an indirect partnership with the PGA Tour. Let’s take a look at how both rival Tours are now interconnected.

Last year, golf fans watched the inaugural LIV Golf season on YouTube, DAZN, and its website for free. The breakaway Tour was facing a tough time finding a TV deal for themselves. However, Greg Norman and his Tour are moments away from officially announcing its partnership with CW.

As per Sports Illustrated, the initial deal between the network and the lucrative Tour would be a revenue-sharing arrangement—without a rights fee being paid. After failed attempts to sign with Fox Sports, the LIV Golf can finally be watched on a Sports network.

LIV Golf and PGA Tour’s new indricet relationship

Long before its foundation, the PGA Tour hasn’t been joyous with the idea of the breakaway Tour. Both Tours and its players have publicly dissed their opposition. With so many differences between the Tours, the LIV Golf and PGA Tour finally share something in common.

CW Network, the television broadcasting company which will be the new home of LIV Golf, is a subsidiary of CBS Network and Warner Bros. The “C” stands for CBS while the “W” stands for Warner Bros. Meanwhile, apart from its deal with NBC Sports, the PGA Tour also has been broadcasted by CBS Sports for many decades.

The new deal of the lucrative Tour with the CW network means both rival Tours have the same broadcasting partner, indirectly. Nonetheless, it’s sure enough that the events from both Tours would not be clashing with each other as they are on different networks.

The new relationship between LIV Golf and PGA Tour was noticed by Twitter account Flushing It Golf. The world of golf shared its thoughts on the arch-enemies sharing the same broadcasting partners.
