Tiger Woods has several accolades in the sport of golf over the years. Along with his many accomplishments, Tiger is also the holder of many records. However, Scottie Scheffler, who has had a remarkable year, has broken a few of Woods’ records. Ahead of the 2022 Presidents Cup, Scheffler has placed himself beside the 15-time Major winner with yet another record. But what feat has the world number one achieved this time?
Scottie Scheffler had a season for the ages. Though he ended the season with a runner-up position at the Tour Championship, the 26-year-old did have plenty of triumphant moments in the 2021-22 season. Scheffler had 4 wins in the season, which also saw him being crowned with his first Major title after claiming the 2022 Masters.

But along with his many wins came his opportunity to create and break more records. Since several records in the sport of golf are held by Woods, Scheffler managed to smash several records of the Hall of Famer.
Previous Tiger Woods’ records shattered by Scottie Scheffler
Earlier this year, Scheffler ascended to the world number one rank in golf, after winning the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. In doing so, the 26-year-old shattered the two records previously held by Tiger Woods. He set a new record for the fewest days between his first PGA Tour title and reaching World No.1 spot.

From Tiger’s maiden victory at the 1996 Las Vegas Invitational to clinching the number one spot in the world of golf, it took Woods 252 days. However, Scheffler achieved that feat in just 42 days.
Moreover, of the 25 players that have reached the top spot in the Official World Golf Ranking, 23 needed more than a year after breaking into the top 10 to do so. Tiger Woods held the record with nine weeks prior to Scheffler doing the same in just six weeks.

No one has made his debut at the Presidents Cup while being ranked number one. However, Tiger Woods achieved this great record back in 1998, when he represented his country for the first time in the Presidents Cup while being number one.
