The golf world has seen several players from all around the world come in to fulfill their golfing dreams. However, there are only a few who wish to work toward growing the game selflessly. And among these few is LPGA Tour legend Michelle Wie West, who has made a unique name for herself through her consistent efforts towards helping the golf community.

Known for her epic skills and unapologetic personality, West has certainly made a mark on the game. Nonetheless, she recently opened up about her main role in golf as an LPGA Tour legend.

What is Michelle Wie West’s main goal as a former pro?

West is regarded as one of the most talented players to have ever played on the LPGA Tour. The 33-year-old has had a knack for the sport ever since she was a little kid. Not to mention, the golfer became the youngest player to qualify for the USGA amateur championship when she was just 10.

Clearly, her impact on the game has been incomparable when it comes to inspiring and influencing young talents to live their dreams as golfers. With five victories on the LPGA Tour, including the 2014 US Women’s Open, West certainly holds a special spot in the history of the sport. However, she is currently stepping into an entirely new phase of her professional career with a multi-billion-dollar partner.

With this week’s Mizuho Americas Open, a new event on the LPGA Tour schedule, West is all set to host the tournament in her own special way. And while announcing the same, the golf legend revealed her irreplaceable role in helping women’s golf flourish. “When I announced that I was stepping away from competitive golf earlier this season, my goal was to continue to live by the LPGA mantra to ‘Act Like a Founder’ and to leave the game in a better place than I found it,” she said.

Keeping in mind that the golf celeb is now involved in a rather unique role in the golf world, she has clearly not lost touch with golf. And despite not playing professionally, her mindset to help the game reach new heights simply shows how much love she has for the game. Notably, with her hosting events and constant promotion of the sport, it is clear that she certainly is living by that mantra! Wouldn’t you agree?

Which top players are present at the Mizuho Americas Open?

The tournament is all set to bring in some of the best players from around the world. Competing for a purse of $2.75 million, golfers will be giving it all they have to make it to the top of the leaderboard. Some of the names worth mentioning include Jin Young Ko, Lilia Vu, Lydia Ko, Brooke Henderson, Jennifer Kupcho, and Minjee Lee!

Despite being present on the course, Michelle Wie West will not be playing at the event. Instead, she’ll be making her way into another career path as the brand ambassador of Workday Sports. And given her love for the sport, she is certainly bound to be successful!
